आरा : आरा-सासाराम रेलखंड के विद्युतीकरण की प्रक्रिया तेज कर दी गयी है. कार्य को पूरा करने के लिए रेलवे ने 76.21 करोड़ रुपये की राशि भी जारी कर दी है. वित्तीय वर्ष 2017-18 के बजट में इस राशि को देने की घोषणा रेलवे द्वारा की गयी है. अगर सब कुछ ठीक-ठाक रहा, तो आनेवाले दिनों में इस रूट पर इलेक्ट्रिक ट्रेनें फर्राटा भरेंगी. इससे यात्रियों को समय की काफी बचत होगी. इंजन बदलने की समस्या से मिलेगी निजात फिलहाल इस रेलखंड पर चलनेवाली ट्रेनें डीजल से चलती हैं. ऐसे में बार-बार इंजन... more...
बदलना पड़ता है. लेकिन, आनेवाले दिनों में इस समस्या से निजात मिल जायेगी. रेलवे की आधारभूत संरचना को बेहतर करने की दिशा में लगातार कार्य किया जा रहा है. इसी के तहत इस रूट का विद्युतीकरण किया जा रहा है. हालांकि, लोगों द्वारा इस रेलखंड को दोहरीकरण करने की मांग भी की जा रही है. दो घंटे पहले पहुंच जायेंगी ट्रेनें आरा-सासाराम रेलखंड पर एक एक्सप्रेस सहित कुल सात ट्रेनें चलती हैं. इस सेक्शन की कुल लंबाई करीब 97 किलोमीटर है. इस दूरी को तय करने में पैसेंजर ट्रेन को साढ़े तीन से चार घंटे का समय लगता है. वहीं, पटना-भभुआ इंटरसिटी व पटना-सासाराम पैसेंजर को करीब दो घंटे 40 मिनट से दो घंटे 50 मिनट का समय लगता है. विद्युतीकरण का कार्य पूरा होने के बाद से डेढ़ से दो घंटे में पैसेंजर ट्रेनें सासाराम से आरा पहुंच जायेंगी. वहीं, डीजल के लिए दानापुर व मुगलसराय स्टेशन जाने की समस्या से भी निजात मिल जायेगी.
·COMMEMORATIVE RUN OF HOWRAH – SEORAPHULI EMU TRAIN SERVICE The commemorative run of 60 years of first EMU train services of Eastern Railway between Howrah and Seoraphuli was flagged off by the eldest Guard & Driver working in ER, who are going to retire this month of December & next month January, Shri Swapan Kumar Modi, Guard and Shri Sekhar Chattopadhyay, Driver (Motorman) in presence of Shri Harindra Rao, General Manager, Eastern Railway at Howrah station this morning.
EMU services in Eastern Railway was introduced for the first time in December 1957 between Howrah and Seorphuli of Howrah Division. Since suburban trains hauled by steam engines in Howrah and Sealdah Divisions had reached their saturation, it was felt that electric traction was the only alternative. As a sequel to this line of thinking, the first electric train travelled from Howrah to Seoraphuli on December 12, 1957.
On this occasion, Shri Harindra Rao, General Manager, Eastern Railway said that it is a historic event to celebrate the commemorative run of the EMU train which was flagged off by the then Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in presence of the then Railway Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram & the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. B. C. Roy on December 12, 1957. With the introduction of the EMU trains on that august day, today Eastern Railway has a proud position to run 1393 EMU train services, including 476 EMU services in Howrah Division and 917 EMU services in Sealdah Division every day for the benefit of the passengers.
He also pointed out that Seoraphuli – Barddhaman, Seoraphuli – Tarakeswar branches were electrified by December 1965. The electrification of Howrah – Barddhaman Chord and Calcutta Chord link were completed in 1966 which ushered in a new era of faster and comfortable train journey for the commuters.
Shri Rao also said that great stress has been laid for even further improvement of EMU train services of both Howrah and Sealdah Divisions so that passengers can enjoy faster, comfortable and secured train journey to reach their destinations. All out efforts have also been made to maintain even better punctuality of EMU services over Eastern Railway.
Shri Sudhir Agrawal, Addl. General Manager, Eastern Railway and Shri Manu Goel, Divisional Railway Manager, Howrah were also present on the occasion.
Shri Ravinder Gupta, Chief Mechanical Engineer, Eastern Railway inspected five coaches of different types, recently refurbished by Liluah Workshop, Eastern Railway in the similar line of ‘Project Swarna’ where seven rakes of Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains were upgraded. These refurbished coaches will be put into service by Howrah Division from December 13, 2017. The coaches include old AC chair car, LHB AC 3-tier, LHB non-AC 3-tier and Integral Coach Factory built non-AC 3-tier coaches as well as non-AC Pantry Car.
Special features of the refurbished coach of 16-year old AC Chair Car coach which will be used in short-distance trains like Shantiniketan Express and Coalfield Express are – Chair car seats similar to aircraft design for better comfort of the passengers, bottle folder below seat, stainless steel snacks table for better cleanability, modified design of magazine bag, long lasting carpet, vinyl wrapping of heritage Kolkata at ceiling, 100% LED panel lighting, additional mobile charging points, fully stainless steel wall panelling in toilet for better cleanliness and longevity, provision of exhaust fan for odourless toilet, anti-skid flooring in toilet, doorway and gangway, Polyurethene painting of coach outside for high quality gloss and longevity.
Special features have also been amalgamated in LHB AC 3-tier coach, which is the most popular category among the passengers. These are, fluorescent outside stickers for better visibility, state of the art painting of coach inside for aesthetic and longer retention, improved design of lavatory door with sensor based LED indicator for passenger inside toilet, aircraft design of modular basin with dustbin and napkin box made of composite material, wall to wall mirror, Auto Janitor for good fragrance, 100% LED lighting inside coach, LED night berth light indicator.
Additional features of LHB non-AC 3-tier coach are best quality toilet fittings, fluorescent outside stickers for better visibility, anti graphiti painting for spotless outside, 100% LED lighting etc.
Special features of the Integrated Coach Factory built non-AC 3-tier coach are – night glow sticker and emergency window sticker to facilitate passenger at station and inside coach, 100% LED lighting, Anti Graphiti Painting for spotless outside.
Moreover, non-AC pantry Cars have also refurbished. The major features are – kitchen with stainless steel panelling, provision of state of the art pantry car equipment, storage cabinets to eliminate cockroach and other wood based insects, 100% LED lighting.
